Resource Forester II

This role is ideal for individuals who want to be part of a team that manages and improves the forest estate through deployment of industry leading silviculture treatments and land operation activities in a manner that maximizes financial returns.  Individuals should have a passion for continuous learning, a desire to work in a team environment and a willingness to collaborate with and assist other work groups.  In this position, you will make decisions that will shape near and long-term outcomes and will contribute to our mission of growing sustainable forest to support consumer needs while caring for the environment and protecting endangered species.   Primary tasks include assisting with coordination and supervision of operations (site preparation, planting, herbaceous weed control, fertilization, thinning and timber stand improvements); using decision support tools to financially evaluate treatments; performing silviculture updates in GIS database; coordinating road and boundary line maintenance; supporting timber marketing with harvest compliance as required; and developing and maintaining good relationships with adjacent landowners, industry contracts and government agencies.
