Under the guidance of Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs) this position helps with a wide variety of layout tasks associated with the design of timber harvest units and location /design of roads associated with those units.

 These are examples of the daily work related to the job:

·      Flags boundaries, stream protection zones, property lines, wildlife retention areas, wildlife key habitat features (green trees, snags, ponds, seeps etc.), and tree marking.

·      Performs field reconnaissance and reports any issues or problems to the Forester or RPF who you report to.

·      Documents and records the technical information related to each Timber Harvest Plan (THP) in a concise and accurate manner.

·      Participates in Company safety program.

·      Update forestry databases with a high level of accuracy.

You are starting your career journey to learn about forestry and land management. You may be in the middle of earning a 2- or 4-year degree in forestry or a degree in another type of Natural Resource related field. You like being outdoors in the fresh air. You may have worked as an intern for the summer or gained some experience in another type of seasonal outdoor job. Regardless of your experience you are eager to learn and ready to work hard every day.
