Job Description:

Job Responsibilities: This seasonal position is for the north work group of Region 6. Duties include, but are not limited to, working managed hunts, collecting data for disease monitoring, assisting biologists with wildlife population surveys, assisting technicians with habitat management and prescribed fire. This is an excellent opportunity to gain some field experience with the DNR and work in some of the most wild and beautiful places in the state. This is a term position lasting approx. 6 months

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND one year work experience in natural resource management or related trade skills.

OR Associates degree or higher in natural resource management or related field

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience managing wildlife habitat for game species

2. Heavy equipment operation and boating experience

3. Other trade skills (Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter, Welder, Mechanic)

4. Relevant certifications/training (FFT2, GA Prescribed Burn, Pesticide Applicator, Chainsaw)

5. Experience conducting prescribed burns

6. DNR/WRD employment experience

Salary:
$13.50/hour
