CAREER OPPORTUNITY

TTG Forestry Services (TTG FS) has multiple opportunities for a Senior Resource Foresters to be located in our Lufkin and Jasper, Texas offices. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Region Manager.

COMPANY OVERVIEWS

TTG FS is a timberland management company based in Atlanta, Georgia providing turn-key timberland management, analytical, project management, and technical services to timberland investors. TTG FS was formed in 2016 and has grown rapidly, now having approximately two million acres under management across North and South America.

Caddo Sustainable Timberlands is a joint venture, and TTG FS client, owning 772,000 acres of timberlands in east Texas and focused on exceptional stewardship, sustainable management, and strong investor returns. The quality, size, and legacy of the timberlands provide excellent exposure to timber, real estate, conservation, oil and gas, and other business markets that drive CST value now and into the future.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Senior Resource Forester is responsible for assisting with planning, coordinating, and executing timberland management and forest operations activities within a region consisting of approximately 386,000 acres located in east Texas and owned by Caddo Sustainable Timberlands. The position will closely collaborate with the Region Manager and TTG Forestry Services staff to provide exceptional client services and drive asset value through implementation of science-based forest management practices and stewardship, optimization of timber deliveries, productive stakeholder relationships, and quality analytics and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct and indirect leadership for teams comprised of two to four Foresters within the region
  • Execute the region’s timber sales program, including development of annual harvest plans and execution of fiber supply agreements, committed volume agreements, and stumpage sales
  • Execute the region’s harvesting operations, including budgeting, planning, harvest delineation, utilization, merchandizing, contractor supervision, a timber security
  • Execute the region’s silviculture operations, including site preparation, planting, pre-commercial thinning, thinning, mid-rotation treatments, forest health treatments, and BMP compliance
  • Collaborate in the implementation of a cost-effective, proactive infrastructure maintenance program that addresses safety, efficiency, and year-round access to the timberland asset
  • Assist with ad valorem tax evaluation and administration, recreational license program administration, maintenance of land records data, and all other asset administration programs
  • Execute the region’s maintenance, population, and use of an enterprise-level information management system that includes spatial and tabular attribute and activity data related to the timberland asset
  • Actively engage in TTG FS’s environmental, social, and governance program that includes safety, stewardship, sustainability, conversation, industry advocacy and community relations
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in forestry or closely related field
  • Minimum five years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated organization and personnel leadership experience and competency
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current silviculture science and practices, harvesting practices, soils science, infrastructure maintenance
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven networking skills
  • Project management, critical thinking, business acumen, and entrepreneurial aptitude
  • Demonstrated planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude
  • Strong commitment to stewardship, sustainability, and ESG principles
