Employer Green Diamond Resource Company Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills Green Diamond Resource Company is seeking a Senior Silviculture Forester to support our Northwest Timberlands Division based in Shelton, Washington. This role oversees silviculture and forest management activities across approximately 315,000 acres of western Washington timberlands. This position is a mix of field and office work, with approximately 50% of time spent in each environment. The role works closely with Forestry, Logging, Harvest Planning, Wildlife, and Engineering teams to coordinate safe, efficient, and sustainable forest management operations. Key Responsibilities:Leading silviculture programs to include reforestation, vegetation control, slash burning, fertilization, animal damage control, and pre-commercial thinningManaging and overseeing contractor operations and ensuring work quality and contract complianceSupporting operational planning, scheduling, budgeting, and permitting activitiesCoordinating with internal teams and adjacent landownersPromoting and maintaining strong safety practices across all operationsMonitoring forestry operations and adapting plans based on operational and environmental conditions Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management or related field, or equivalent experience10+ years of forestry or silviculture experienceExperience overseeing field operations and contractor crewsStrong communication, planning, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and make sound operational decisionsCommitment to safety, stewardship, and teamwork Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Washington Forest Practice regulations, leadership experience, and experience with budgeting or operational planning.
