Senior Wetland Scientist / Project Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time, Average 40-hours per week

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

Location: Kentucky or Tennessee Office

# of Hires Needed: 1

Amount of Travel: Estimated between 75% - 80% during peak seasons

About the Opportunity:

Copperhead Environmental Consulting is expanding our team and actively seeking a Senior Wetland Scientist / Project Manager to join our family of professional consultants. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to develop a long-term career in the environmental consulting industry and is open to diversification across the company.

Responsibilities:

• Manage projects, including budgeting, invoicing, and scheduling

• Network within industry organizations to establish and expand the regional client base in the areas of environmental permitting, planning, and broad-based natural resources services

• Coordinate and submit proposals

• Identify new business opportunities

• Grow client relationships and further expand business opportunities throughout the southeast

• Oversee and conduct wetland and waterway delineations

• Prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written material

• Prepare Section 404/401 permit applications

• Conduct inspections of active construction sites to ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control measures

• Coordinate and perform field work for wetland and stream delineations

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field required; master’s degree preferred

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in wetland delineation required

• At least 5 years of progressive project management experience required

• Candidates who hold or are eligible for the Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification will be given top consideration

• Candidates who hold or are eligible for the Qualified Hydrologic Professional (QHP) for Tennessee certification will be given top consideration

• Experience applying environmental compliance and permitting regulations required

• Experience managing wetland and waterway delineations required

• Experience preparing technical reports required

• Ability to travel on short notice, at night, and/or on weekends, and potentially for extended periods of time required

• Must hold a valid driver’s license
