The Evergreen Packaging Pine Bluff Paper Mill is located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, less than an hour from Little Rock in scenic southeast Arkansas. It is the largest industrial employer in Jefferson County. Opened in 1958, Pine Bluff is the largest facility within Evergreen Packaging and is home to the world's largest gable-top liquid packaging paperboard machine. In addition to producing paperboard for cartons, the facility also produces coated paper for magazines. 

 

The Senior Procurement Forester serves to implement strategic wood procurement initiatives for wood fiber supply to the Pine Bluff Mill. The position will primarily focus on roundwood procurement in Arkansas, but will support initiatives throughout the entire Pine Bluff wood fiber supply chain. The position also serves as a tactical liaison between Procurement, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Wood Suppliers to assist with the ordering, accounting control, compliance and quality of logs, wood chips, and wastefuel. The position is also responsible for assisting with strategy development and administering the certified wood procurement initiatives in the region.

 

 

Procurement and Operational Functions:

· Implementation of strategic wood procurement initiatives

· Procurement of roundwood, chips, and waste fuel

· Weekly wood order management and supplier scheduling

· Management of supplier compliance, contracts, and business relationships

· Management of product delivery and system management

· Product reporting and metric tracking

· Attendance at paper mill management meetings to report on wood supply chain status

 

 

Accounting Support Functions:

Assist with accounting requirements associated with the wood procurement process, and provide administrative support to include:

· Ticket Reconciliation

· Contract Management

· Purchase Order Management

· Quality Control of Inventory Transactions

 

 

Forest Certification Support Functions:

· Monitoring Chain of Custody (COC) credit tracking and compliance

· Preparation for Certification Audits

· Field audits for producer and supplier compliance to certification standards

· Field forestry support for private landowners enrolled in certification programs

· Strategic development and implementation of certified wood procurement initiatives with suppliers in the region

 

 

Wood Quality:

· Sample wood chips to ensure chip quality

· Complete roundwood and chip specification compliance audits

· Complete roundwood and chip quality reporting

· Attend paper mill management meetings to report on wood quality

· Assisting suppliers with chip mill and wood handling adjustments to meet Pine Bluff Mill specifications

Qualifications:

Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry, Forest Business, or similar Natural Resource program is required

· Master’s Degree in Forestry, Business Administration, or similar Natural Resource program is preferred

· 5 to 10 years of applicable experience is preferred, which may include experience gained through internships or co-ops

· Candidates should possess or have the ability to acquire Registered Forester status within a 24 month period
