This position is part of the Coastal Piedmont Region in Southern Timberlands and will report to the Brunswick Area Manager. It is a full-time, exempt position located near Brunswick, GA. This role involves office and field time to plan and manage the activities required to support sustainable management of the Brunswick Area Tree Farm. Key Functions: General forestry responsibilities such as early-rotation and mid-rotation functions, contract administration and/or other functions as required Silviculture plan execution in compliance with regional silviculture strategy and the annual plan Field-verification of silviculture treatment candidates and provision of setting-specific recon information to management Silviculture contract negotiation, silviculture operation supervision, monitor contract performance including safety, SFI, EMP, production, cost and quality, and address contract noncompliance and performance issues Provide timely status updates for system activity updates Process silviculture invoices and payments Verify silviculture performance and efficacy Provide support other functions to include Planning, Harvesting and Geographic Leaders Qualifications: Bachelors degree (or higher) in Forestry OR equivalent combination of education and silviculture experience Basic forestry skills Strong work ethic Willingness to abide by established safety standards Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in project management and contract administration Problem solving skills Capability to prioritize work activities and assignments Defensive driving skills Willingness and skills to support the work needs of the team outside your area of assigned responsibility Teaming skills including the ability and willingness to work in a diverse team environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of or willingness to learn Weyerhaeuser forestry practices Miscellaneous: About Timberlands We believe trees are a remarkable resource that can and should be managed responsibly to make a range of products that meet human needs, while also providing recreation, wildlife habitat, and other important ecosystem benefits.
