Job Description:

This dual LTE appointment is comprised of two 20-hour positions for an expected work schedule of 40 hours per week. The intention is to hire one candidate on both positions.

Position 1, Research Technician:

This position will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Snapshot Wisconsin program, a statewide trail camera project to monitor wildlife. The person in this position will work closely with other Snapshot Wisconsin Team members to ensure a high-quality dataset. Primary duties of this position include performing data quality control checks and providing expert photo classifications. Other duties include but are not limited to conducting testing of IT infrastructure. Some in-state travel may be required.

Position 2, Program Specialist:

This position will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the Snapshot Wisconsin program, a statewide trail camera project to monitor wildlife. The person in this position will work closely with other Snapshot Wisconsin Team members to provide high quality service to current and potential volunteers. The primarily duties of this position include volunteer coordination and correspondence, as well as equipment preparation and delivery. Other duties include but are not limited to conducting volunteer recruitment and retention activities. Some in-state travel may be required. 

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Required:

- Exceptional organization skills 

- Experience working with volunteers or customers

- College level course work in conservation biology, wildlife biology, natural resources management, environmental science or similar fields 

- Experience in data management

- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team

- Possess a valid Driver's License

Preferred:

- Experience working in an office environment

- Possess a bachelor's degree in Conservation Biology, Wildlife Biology, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science or similar fields

- Experience with program outreach and professional communication

- Experience working with databases (e.g. Access, Oracle) and data management software/languages (e.g. R, SQL)

 

Salary:
$19.86 per hour
