Position Overview
Westervelt is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Mergers & Acquisitions Team for the Summer of 2026. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in timberland transactions, financial modeling, strategic planning, and real estate research. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals on active acquisition projects and contribute to corporate process improvements.

This position requires relocation to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A housing allowance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in creating and maintaining financial models for timberland acquisitions
Conduct research on timberland markets, real estate trends, ESG initiatives, and alternative land uses
Support due diligence efforts for ongoing acquisition projects
Contribute to corporate strategic planning through model development and analysis
Present findings and insights to team members in a clear and concise manner
Participate in process improvement initiatives across the M&A function

Requirements
Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, finance, forestry, or a related discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and advanced functions
Experience with ArcMap and GIS applications
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to communicate complex research findings effectively
Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
