Position Overview
The Summer Wildlife Intern will support the Westervelt Recreation Group through a variety of hands-on projects related to our hunting lease and commercial hunting businesses. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain field experience in wildlife and forestland management while working alongside experienced professionals.

This position requires relocation to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A housing allowance will be provided.


Key Responsibilities
Assist with wildlife habitat management and property assessments
Support hunting lease operations and customer service initiatives
Participate in field data collection and analysis
Operate and maintain equipment including UTVs, tractors, and 4WD vehicles
Perform tasks in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions

Requirements
Knowledge of general outdoor skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Good physical condition and ability to work in challenging terrain and climates
Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods
Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate 4WD vehicles, UTVs, and tractors
Highly motivated and adaptable to changing work schedules
Preference given to students pursuing a degree in wildlife science or a related field

$20.00 per hour for undergraduate student
$22.00 per hour for graduate student
