The primary purpose of this position is to give support to the Westervelt Lumber Wood Procurement Group and allow the intern to gain practical experience in the field of Forest Management. Duties will include the areas of harvest planning & operations, BMP implementation, developing relationships, and project management.Position will require relocation to Tuscaloosa and Thomasville, AL or surrounding areas. Housing or housing allowance will be provided

Current undergraduate or graduate student in Forestry or related field.
Must have completed summer camp.
Knowledge of general outdoor skills.
Well-developed communication and people skills.
Ability to effectively work in a team environment with employees and customers.
Good physical condition and ability to perform under adverse climatic working conditions and difficult terrain.
Ability to work outside, often for long periods on foot.
Be able to safely operate a 4-wheel drive pickup. Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be highly motivated.
Work schedules will be adjusted to the requirements of the activities and projects.

Salary:
Undergraduate students - $20/hr
Graduate students - $22/hr
Job Benefits:

Pay - Undergraduate student - $20/hr; Graduate student - $22/hr

Housing stipend - $700/month

Company vehicle - A company truck will be provided
