Job Description:

We just bought a one and half acre parcel of old growth forest with a small stream next to our home, but it has some invasive plants (privet, mahonia, Chinese holly, English ivy, etc) that need to be removed in order to bring this forest back to health. We're looking for someone to develop a plan for this lot and begin to implement it by removing the invasive plants and adding native plant species. IMHO this is a dream summer job for someone who wants to try forestry management on a small scale.

Qualifications:
  • You should have knowledge of forestry.
  • You should have some experience removing invasive species.
  • You enjoy restoring forests back to health.
  • This work is unsupervised, so you need to be a self starter.
Miscellaneous:

The job begins as soon as you are ready. The job ends at the end of the summer, with the possibility of continuing on part-time after that.

Salary:
$300 per day. 5 days per week (this is flexible). 6 hours (of your choosing) per day.
