Deadline: Sun, 03/12/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: DOMAIN CAPITAL GROUP Job Field: Forestry Job Type: Seasonal, Temporary, Internship Location: Georgia Location Detail: Atlanta Job Description: Domain Timber Advisors is looking to fill a timber investment focused internship position for the summer of 2023 at our Atlanta office. The intern will be responsible for supporting the day to day investment and asset management activities for Domain’s timberland and environmental holdings across the United States, with opportunities to offer similar support to Domain’s Capital team pending applicant qualification. The position will primarily report to forestry operations and natural resource portfolio management/analytics teams. Field travel of up to a week or more with regional forestry staff is also likely. Duties will include, but are not limited to: • Assist in land and timber market research, data entry, and analysis • Assist analytics team on a wide scope of projects relating to the management and analysis of client properties including, but not limited to: harvest scheduling, forecasting and scenario analysis, sell/hold analysis, comparable sales research, etc. • Assist analytics team in evaluating prospective acquisitions including, but not limited to: data mining and organization, market research, data cleaning, due diligence support, field support as needed, etc. • Provide ArcGIS mapping support for all teams • Assist accounting, marketing, and legal departments as needed Qualifications: Ideal candidates include graduate students and undergraduate students that have completed their junior year with degree focus in forestry, natural resources, or an associated field. Completion of spatial analysis or a comparable natural resource related GIS course is required. Proficiency or aptitude to become more proficient in Excel is strongly preferred. The candidates should be detail oriented and results focused, with demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills, and be able to learn on the fly and work independently. Written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills and competency with the Microsoft Office Suite are preferred. Miscellaneous: The intern will be required to report daily to Domain’s corporate headquarters in midtown Atlanta with the exception of when duties require field work.
