As a Timber Marketing Manager for our Greater GA Resource Unit, you will directly impact our success by driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and optimized timber sales. From budgeting and forecasting to harvest scheduling and marketing execution, this role offers significant opportunities for professional growth. How will you contribute? Sales & Marketing: Prepare, negotiate, and execute timber sale contracts.Develop and implement a strategic timber marketing plan that maximizes revenue.Manage customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.Explore and develop new market opportunities. Operations & Logistics:Collaborate with the Resource Information Team and Land Information Services on implementing the tactical harvest schedule.Oversee timber revenue budgeting and forecasting, wood flow management, harvesting logistics, and delivered wood contracts to maximize profitability. Marketing Analysis & Strategy Collaborate with the Timber Marketing Team to maximize wood product value through innovative quality and market positioning strategies.Analyze wood value chain markets to inform strategic decisions and uncover growth opportunities.Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities to broaden our customer base and diversify revenue streams. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all harvesting operations comply with Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standards and guidelines, ensuring environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.Continuously improve workplace safety for personnel, contractors, and stakeholders through rigorous safety protocols, regular assessments, and a proactive safety culture.Teamwork & CollaborationContribute to team success through collaboration and knowledge-sharing Required QualificationsB.S. in Forestry or related field5 years of experience in stumpage sales or delivered forest productsDemonstrate expertise in technical forestry practices.Thorough understanding of regional market dynamicsWorking knowledge of technical and business systems (e.g., LMS, MLM)Working knowledge of business and environmental law related to forestryStrong negotiating skills Physical Requirements:This role requires extensive physical activity, including hiking across varied terrain (uneven ground, slopes, wetlands, and dense vegetation), carrying equipment and supplies, and performing strenuous tasks like inventory measurements and sale setup.Work involves maintaining stability on uneven surfaces, navigating obstacles, and working in challenging positions, often outdoors in diverse weather conditions.Operating machinery, power tools, and motor vehicles are also required.
