Timber Sales Contract Specialist, Contracts Specialist 1 (CS1)

Relocation Compensation may be available and considered
Salary: $4,093.00 - $5,501.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and processes timber sale review documents and advertising materials. Reviews and analyzes contracts and other associated documents for completeness, adherence with Board of Natural Resources and Agency policy and procedures, ensures consistency with agency and region standards, and identifies contract terms and language suitable to comply with policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensures complete and accurate timber sale financial accounting by reviewing data, reconciling and managing accounts.
  • Responsible for log and load accountability. Point of contact for coordinating with external log scaling bureaus, scale facilities, timber sale purchasers, and region contract administrators.
  • Facilitates all aspects of the contract process, including: creates documents, obtains signatures, and contract modifications, in coordination with relevant staff in accordance with agency and state procedures.
  • Coordinates with timber sale purchasers, Division and Region, and regulatory agency staff, and insurance companies to ensure contract documentation is completed properly.
  • Maintains and manages timber sale file records including the agency’s Timber Sale Document Center (TSDC) SharePoint site ensuring each timber sale file is current and complete.
  • Provide assistance to the Intensive Management Forester for silviculture projects including contract and financial assistance for the entire process of silviculture service contracts from advertisement for bidding to project closeout, including processing required bid and contract award paperwork, maintaining project records, monitoring financial status and processing payments. Upload project documents to the contract tracking SharePoint site. Independently compile data for audits and answering requests from other agencies.

 

 

Required Qualifications: 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resource, business administration, business law, public administration or closely related field;
    AND One year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, contract compliance administration or natural resource business or public administration field involving contract management;
    OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience with contract development and terminology.
  • Advanced level experience in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets, and Adobe Products.
  • Experience organizing, prioritizing, and working within tight schedules and timelines with attention to detail.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
