Job Description:

The Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a Lecturer position in Forestry. This is a campusbased, twelve-month, non-tenure-track position. This position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in support of the Ecosystem Management and Forestry Major (https://nature.berkeley.edu/advising/majors/forestry-and-natural-resources). This would initially include classes in Forest Measurements, Dendrology, with other possible topics related to the successful candidates background/interests. Additional teaching and curriculum development will occur in support of the University of California Forestry Summer Camp (https://forestrycamp.berkeley.edu/) in the northern Sierra Nevada including a new set of 1-week mini-camps for potential forestry students.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Master’s degrees in forestry or related natural resources management field and two years of experience teaching college courses as the lead instructor. Desirable education and/or experience include: PhD and/or 3+ years of teaching experience, experience producing effective, innovative, and inclusive education materials, and strong experience or expertise related to the management of forests.

Salary:
$80,000-$95,000 depending on experience
