Job Description:

1. Prepare all grant paperwork such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs), grant agreements, report forms, etc.

2. Monitor sub-grants and ensure completion of all required paperwork and reports; adhering to federal, state, and agency requirements.

3. Organize and lead grant review panel to determine grant recipients.

4. Utilize the Submittable grant platform to manage the sub-grant programs.

5. Promote grant programs through email, social media posts, news releases, newsletters, and articles for various publications.

6. Handle all communication with applicants and recipients such as communities, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations to provide guidance on grant procedures, protocols, and requirements.

7. Conduct grant workshops virtually and in-person to inform and advise potential grant applicants.

8. Outreach to local contacts in underserved areas to develop working relationships and provide guidance with potential grant projects.

9. Process grant payments abiding by federal, state and agency regulations and requirements.

10. Budget and track grant awards and other expenses.

11. Manage the Tree City/Tree Campus USA program by reviewing applications and assisting communities and schools with completing applications.

12. Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Completion of an undergraduate degree, preferably related to natural resources, at an accredited four-year university and extensive work experience (3+ years) working with administration and grants management, particularly federal grants. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; excellent customer service and communication skills; experience speaking to small and large audiences.

A stand-alone degree with an urban forestry major, or an emphasis area in urban forestry within a forest management degree with a minimum of three years’ experience providing assistance to communities/community groups/non-profits involved in urban forestry and urban interface issues and one year experience working with federal grants OR extensive work experience (8+ years) in Urban and Community Forestry and federal grants management in lieu of an undergraduate degree; ISA Certified Arborist.

Salary:
$50,000 to $60,067
