Job Description:

The WLFW Outreach Coordinator will work with Pheasants Forever, Inc. & Quail Forever (PF & QF) to lead outreach efforts in Arkansas and throughout the WLFW Bobwhite Framework range. Primary duties of this position will be to work directly with QF staff in Arkansas and across the WLFW Bobwhite Framework range and other conservation partners to coordinate, promote, and produce QF and WLFW outreach materials. The Outreach Coordinator will be expected to help manage social media accounts in Arkansas and WLFW providing content to highlight conservation efforts and grassland restoration opportunities for private landowners. The Outreach Coordinator will work with QF teams in Arkansas and surrounding states to develop content that is related to conservation practices, programs, trainings, and opportunities to receive technical and financial assistance. The position will also be responsible for 20 percent conservation technical assistance i.e., assisting local Quail Forever/Partner Farm Bill Biologists on habitat management plans or providing conservation technical assistance to landowners. Continued field experience and working directly with landowners will be valuable in order to provide firsthand knowledge and perspective when leading and supporting landowner workshops. The position may also assist in outcomes assessment efforts as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors with experience in conservation outreach and education and native grassland knowledge. Good communication skills will be vital to the success of this position. Travel will be expected throughout Arkansas with occasional travel to surrounding states to support QF staff and the WLFW Bobwhite Framework at outreach events and for relevant trainings and meetings.

Qualifications:

- Applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Wildlife Biology, Wildlife Management, Biology, Botany, or Natural Resources Management.

· Experience in outdoor skills education, conservation education, and event coordination preferred.

· Has a passion for conservation education, grasslands and savannas ecology.

· Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Knowledge and/or experience related to establishing/managing pollinator and quail wildlife habitat.

· Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead volunteers and partners.

· Ability to work independently as well as working with team members to accomplish common goals.

Salary:
$52,000, plus benefits.
